Ivan’s Concrete Creations

Art in Concrete

Whether commissioned or just creating for himself, Ivan has used his vivid imagination to sculpt some very notable concrete creations.

Many of his art pieces are works which have been commissioned by private individuals, local businesses and national corporations to enhance a prized garden, to honour a valued employee or to celebrate a life well lived and remembered.

Ivan designed and constructed his beautiful grouping of ‘Monks’ (2004) which stands as a private memorial to one missed but always remembered. He also designed a special retirement thanks by creating his ‘Mermaid and Falcon’ (2004).

Scattered throughout the Cosby’s Garden Centre property many of Ivan’s creations have found a permanent home. Nestled in a bed of heather discover ‘The Enchanting Castle’ (2003). Adorning the front of the property one finds his ‘Mystical Warrior Fountain’ (2006).

At the rear, behind the greenhouses, amongst the large rocks, hills, and hardwood trees is the Sculpture Garden dedicated to Ivan’s larger and more recent concrete creations. His ‘Five Capoieras’ (2006) are among those most often photographed by visitors to the outdoor gallery. Ivan hopes to place a new work of art here every year. And true to his word, Ivan has added a new project this year. Visitors are encouraged to visit the Sculpture Garden regularly to see Ivan’s latest concrete creations and other changes to this unusual tourist destination. Have photos of your visit? We would love to see them.
